I’m so excited to share the next few pictures with you! I decided to haul my borrowed tripod to our honeymoon trip to redeem myself from my last Astro series. Costa Rica (or what little we’ve seen of it) is a beautiful country filled with friendly Ticos and tourists. My husband and I have had the pleasure to sleep under the stars in a treehouse and a cave which was an experience all on its own. Needless to say, I’m glad I was able to capture the view with my cam.
My husband can attest to how giddy I was when the Milky Way made an appearance in my first shot. I probably showed him the picture a gazillion times but I knew deep down he couldn’t get enough of it. I love his patience with me.
Anyway, I’m super happy with how these turned out. Again, I used Afterlight to edit so I think it altered the quality of the photos. That, or my shutter speed could have done with some adjusting. Star trails seem to be the next natural step for me once I perfect getting stationary shots.
Here are a couple of others where I tried to capture some foreground interest with the satellite tower.
I hope you enjoyed this salad! 🙂
*Update* while the photos look great on a small screen of a phone, I just noticed how terrible they look on a larger screen of a laptop. I forgot to set up the cam’s self timer so the blur is most likely from pressing the shutter button manually 🙁 I really need to start reviewing my photos as I take them. Le sigh.
